In 2008 after a strategic review, the National College of Ireland re-launched ICELT as the Business Incubation Centre. The incubation centre was set up to assist high potential start up companies in the Finance, Education and Learning Technologies. The Business Incubation Centre is part of National College of Ireland and is located within NCI's campus in the heart of the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). The establishment of the Business Incubation Centre in National College of Ireland represents the most exiting and dynamic new development between education and industry in Ireland today. The Business Incubation Centre has been designed around the concept of building a 'community of peers', where businesses operating out of the centre will benefit from shared knowledge, resources and equipment as well as the support of entrepreneurs, state agencies, academics and international networks.
